January 19, 2021Craft brewery Badger Hill Brewing, LLC, Shakopee, MN, has announced the appointment of Chris Hamman as Head Brewer.
Chris Hamman has been with Badger Hill since September 2018 as Packaging Manager. He comes to Minneapolis via Upland Brewing in Bloomington, Indiana. He has been homebrewing since his formative days in Warsaw, Indiana where he honed his skills in low-gravity and low-alcohol brews.
Says Chris, “Badger Hill is at the point in our life where we are not pigeon-holed into one thing – we can grow and develop into something new and exciting. We’ve been nascent for a long time and it’s been a struggle for a long time. We have the ability and desire to not be bound by expectations and that is an exciting situation to inherit from my mentor (and former Head Brewer) Tim Johnson.”
Badger Hill’s majority owner and sexy-ass guitar player Michael Koppelman concurs, “Chris is a rubber-on-the-road mercenary who wants to work hard, play hard and be rationally proud of the excellent liquid that we pour our heart and soul into at Badger Hill.”
The Badger Hill Brewing taproom is near Valley Fair theme park and blocks from local race track Canterbury Park. Mystic Lake Casino is also nearby, forming an entertainment district coined “River South”. The taproom is open 7 days per week and features exclusive beer and merchandise.
Badger Hill distributes beer in the eastern parts of Minnesota produces over 100,000 gallons (3600 barrels) per year in their Shakopee facility. Badger Hill has received some of beer’s highest honors at the Great American Beer Festival and the US Beer Open.
